New aluminium base DRILL and NO DRILL

Van loading ramp base: drilled or drill-free, meet the new WM System aluminiumbase

Anyone fitting a loading ramp to a van faces the same choice: drill the floor or not? Withthe new WM System aluminium base, the choice is yours. It is one base with two ways tofit it: DRILL, on pre-cut holes, or NO DRILL, without touching the vehicle.
The most tangible benefit is the time saved in the workshop. The holes in the base matchthose on the van: fitting is faster and mistakes are practically impossible.
We previewed it at IAA Transportation in Hannover. From 1st October 2026 it becomesstandard on WM System loading ramps, and from 15th November 2026 the NO DRILLversion can be ordered too.

DRILL or NO DRILL: two ways to fix the ramp to the van
DRILL – the base with holes (standard).
It is fixed by drilling the van on holes pre-cut foreach vehicle model. This is the option we recommend: it costs less and is easier to fit.
NO DRILL – a van ramp without drilling.
Two side supports, designed for each vehiclemodel, fix the base using only the holes already in the van. No new holes in the floor: theanswer for anyone who cannot or will not drill, for example on rented, leased or resalevehicles.

Faster, error-free fitting: time is money
Every hour in the workshop is a cost, both for the fitter and for whoever is waiting for thevan. That is why the new base is designed to keep installation time to a minimum.
The base is shaped for each specific van model and its holes match those already on thevehicle. Just line them up: no measuring, no marking out holes by hand, no ramp todismantle on arrival. Getting the fitting wrong becomes practically impossible.
The result is a full fitting in about 2.5 hours with DRILL and about 2 hours with NO DRILL,while the base alone is fixed in 40–50 minutes. Less time in the workshop means vansback on the road sooner and more jobs in the same day.

Frequently asked questions
Can I fit a loading ramp to my van without drilling?

Yes. With the NO DRILL version thebase is fixed with dedicated side supports, using only the vehicle’s existing holes. It canbe ordered from 15th November 2026, with deliveries expected from mid-December 2026or in January 2027.

How long does it take to fit the ramp?

About 2.5 hours for the DRILL version and about 2hours for NO DRILL. Fitting the base alone takes 40–50 minutes.

Is the aluminium base heavier?

No. It weighs about 12 kg, in line with the old steel base.

How do I order the NO DRILL version?

It must be requested explicitly on the order. Unless specified, the ramp is supplied with the standard DRILL base.

Which version should I choose?
If the van can be drilled, we recommend DRILL: it costsless and is easier to fit. NO DRILL is designed for those who want to leave the vehicleuntouched.
